A Time For Celebrations

A time for celebrations

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Winter time, particularly Christmas and New Years Eve are often thought of for being a truly romantic time of the year. Perhaps it’s because of the cosy nights in front of the fireplace, the popping of bubbly at parties and laughter or the fact that often many of us have the time to spend with loved ones. Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt, these two days alone see more wedding proposals than any other day.

If you are one of the lucky couples who got engaged over this incredible and exciting period, you may be wondering what to do next. Here’s our top tips:

  1. Tell family and friendsIf you haven’t done so already, it’s the perfect time to announce your engagement to family and friends. You’ll probably be seeing one another to exchange gifts anyway so why not make it extra special.

Before telling your wider group, do consider whether you’d like a big or small wedding so you tailor the announcement to a save-the-date or not.
  2. Consider your optionsWhat is it that you want from your wedding? Perhaps you’d like an outdoor ceremony or a destination wedding. You don’t have to make any decisions right away, just enjoy the moment and all the excitement that comes with it. Taking your time will give you something to look forward to over the next few months.
  3. Save the DateWith the average wedding taking a year to plan, maybe a winter wedding to recreate the magical moment may be your preference. Whether it’s a winter or summer wedding, keep in mind that some of the most exclusive venues book up two years in advance. If you have your heart set on one in particular, make sure you check their availability before deciding a date. If you know you can plan a wedding in only six months, you also may find some late availability.
  4. Do some researchThe festive period is a great time to get engaged and start your planning. January is Wedding Fair season, meaning you’ll have lots of inspiration and ideas to help you make your day perfect.
